Effort to repeal health system reform fails in Senate
The U.S. Senate on Wednesday voted 51-47 to reject an amendment that would have repealed the federal health reform law. Last month, the Republican-led House voted 245-189 to repeal the law, which was considered symbolic since the bill had little chance of advancing in the Democratic-controlled Senate. President Obama had earlier promised to veto the bill.
