RESOLVED, That the Kansas Medical Society reaffirms its support for a prohibition on smoking in public places and in places of employment, including hospitals; strict enforcement of laws prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to minors; and full funding for tobacco prevention, cessation, and control programs in Kansas at federally recommended levels; and be it further

RESOLVED, That KMS continue to encourage and provide support to component medical societies in efforts to work for adoption of clean air ordinances; and be it further

RESOLVED, That KMS continue to work for state laws and public policies which reduce the sale and consumption of tobacco products, and which reduce the exposure to secondhand smoke.
