Physician profiling
RESOLVED, That the Kansas Medical Society work to publicize to its membership the issue of physician profiling, to serve as an informational resource for members who question their profile details and continue to advocate for reasonable requirements surrounding transparency in data collection; and be it further
RESOLVED, That KMS support enactment of profiling legislation that requires disclosure, in advance, of the criteria used to evaluate physicians, protects physicians’ due process rights, is based on recognized, evidence-based medical standards or guidelines developed by the AMA Physician Consortium on Performance Improvement or other national specialty societies, and is appropriately risk-adjusted.
