SB 327: Prescription Monitoring Program

| Print |

Description

  • SB 327 makes some technical amendments to the statutes governing the Prescription Monitoring Program, which was enacted in 2008. The Substitute for SB 327 which was passed by the Senate Public Health & Welfare Committee includes the KMS-supported versions of SB 328, dealing with e-prescribing of controlled substances, and SB 327, addressing the use of protected prescribing data in the statewide prescription monitoring program. As amended, the bill ensures the removal of barriers to e-prescribing of controlled substances and creates a peer review-like process to assist the PMP advisory committee in its review processes.
