HB 2255: Childhood obesity prevention

Description

  • The bill directs the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to establish a task force and to seek grants for conducting statewide meetings with students in grades 4 through 12, school personnel, parents and civic leaders for discussions on obesity related diseases and conditions. The task force will then use any grants or private donations to fulfill the requirement in the bill to submit a report on the meetings and a plan outlining a comprehensive state plan for the implementation of services and programs to increase prevention and management of obesity for children in Kansas.
