HB 2178: Professional licenses to non-residents

Description

  • The bill would direct any professional licensing agency in Kansas to grant a license to any nonresident military spouse if the spouse is currently licensed to practice the same profession in another state. The spouse must have engaged in the same professional occupation for at least 2 of the 5 years preceding the date of application in Kansas. Licensure requirements in the former state must be deemed equivalent to those granted licensure in Kansas. The bill would apply to the Board of Healing Arts.
